Founder and CSO

Alex Tao did his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry followed by a post doctor in Synthetic Biology at Harvard Medical School. He has over 20 years of industrial experience in biosynthesis and green chemistry including the Head of a Global Center of Emphasis of Pfizer Global R&D, a Core member of the API Review Team and Development Team of Pfizer Global Manufacturing, and Pfizer Global Biotask Force steering committee. 

He has been invited as speakers or chaired for over 40 international conferences, and 50 top global pharmaceutical, food, flavor & fragrance companies. He has contributed over 170 English papers and patents, and co-authored 17 widely-used English books including two pioneering treatises entitled “Biocatalysis for the Pharmaceutical Industry (Wiley-VCH)” and “Biocatalysis for Green Chemistry and Chemical Process Development (Wiley-VCH)”. 

He or projects he managed received a number of international awards including IChemE Award for Excellence in Green Chemistry and Engineering, J&J R&D Excellence Award, Pfizer Green Chemistry Award, Pfizer Achievement Award and Nominated for US Presidential Green Chemistry Award.

Attorney at law

Dr. Jim Li is a seasoned trial lawyer with over 15 years of experience in intellectual property (IP) and business litigation. Dr. Li is listed in the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals in USA. Over the years, Dr. Li has handled all types of IP litigation including patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and right of publicity. He has conducted various jury trials, bench trials, arbitration hearings, and also argued various cases in federal and state appeal courts. Jim Li did his J. D. at Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, and postdoctoral at School of Medicine, Stanford University.
